    Time Event
    6:13p
    Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Greetings. I am now living in Nevada. Here's a synopsis so far:

Day 1: St. Louis to Red Rock Canyon State Park in Oklahoma (10.5 hours).
An interesting day to say the least. I had lunch in the rain with a bunch of band geeks at a rest park. Very nostalgic. After travelling through familiar country most of the day, I stopped at a state park that my family stayed at some 14 years ago. It must be a fairly popular climbing location, as the cliffs had worn rope marks on them. I also saw an armadillo from about 2 feet away. The cost to camp was $9.

Day 2: Red Rock Canyon to Bluewater Lake State Park in New Mexico (11.5 hours).
I love driving through New Mexico, even though this is where the lack of humidity started getting to me some. Plus, finding Cartalk in the morning was easy near the OK, TX line. Probably at least three stations carried it.

Day 3: Bluewater Lake State Park to Lake Mead National Recreation Area, my final destination (10 hours).
I arrived in Boulder City, NV smack in the middle of a city festival. It was interesting finding my way to the office for my house keys with streets blocked off and policemen directing traffic. The house is nice, but no cell reception, so I'll get a landline. The house is right on the lake.

Training: The crew and leaders are pretty good so far, and each person brings something different to the table, so training is pretty nice. I've learned some things, and brushed up on others. The actual implementation of these things will do me well, though.

I'll post more in a week or so.
